Hi my names Nathan.........and im addicted to fly fishing. Its been one week since the bug hit...and...and I need another one. I got a second rod and more flies but its just not enough! I need more!!!!! MOOOOOORE!

Its a true story guys. The fly bug has hit hard and its all I can think of :D Is there any other fly crazy guys out there that wants to talk.

Im currantly using a Inovator X-stream 6/7# matched with an Inovator FREESTONE 567 with 7# Stipper Bass INTR line. Its going to mainly be used for Bream but will be a great Trout rod......once of coarse I get a second spool for a floating line and my casting down-pat :D

Anyways I went into my local shop tonight and brought my self another fly rod plus a heap of crazy Bream flies.

Ill get some pics up of my gear soon. The inovator combo is seeeeeexy :D

cheers, Nathan

hahaha thats not good...might have to stock fly gear...LOL

Good to hear ya trying it out. It's wicked. I know Geoff Paulic was right into it for a while. Man invest in a fly vice and make your own! So fulfilling!!!

Good on ya Nath, fly fishing is great fun, you should talk to the Muscadine Warrior ( Steve ) one day about my attempts at bream fishing with the fly rod, I don't know how he still has two ears because I came close to both of them at times or at least my fly did. at the moment I am still wandering around the Country pulling a caravan but when we get back to Perth I will pick the fly rod up and get back into serious work with it.. Nifty

Thanks for the replies guys :D Its good to know im not alone.

I was hoping to get out this weekend but I dont think the weather will be on my side if I want to take out the fly rod. I'll more than likely give the salmon a go anyways.

cheers, Nathan

Hey Nath,

I reckon you can't really call yourself an Angler until you have nailed a fish on fly, especially when you see the fish first, site cast to it "perfectly!", see it strike and set the hook.

I bought Micah Adams DVD recently i forget what it's called , i left it with Steve Brown and have to wrestle it off of him!, if your new to it and need some questions answerd i strongly recomend getting it, it's about $30.

The movie is great cause it looks at flyfishing for all the regular target Australian species and covers techniques, gear, flies, retrieves and heaps of other stuff.

Micah does a section on fishing for Bream and it's certainly helped me to refine a few things that i have been doing as far as retrieve is concerned.

I can't wait to get these exams out the way so i can get some of my life back and do some fishing.

And Nev when you get home we'll have to all catch up and head to Walpole and see if we can't nail some Bream on fly, i'll do some tieing!.

Regards

Geoff

Hey Geoff you big @#@$ where have you been? you just missed an awesome trip with Browny and Uncle S! we are heading back in summer so you will have to tag along then....

I took my fly rod down there - it only go used once - but i think it was when the fish were really slow so i didnt get any.... ill have to steal your dvd to see what type of retrieves to use.... i only ever fish fly up north where the fish are suicidal and like quicker retrieves.... think i had it all stuffed up for bream!

what type of retrieves are you guys using? and type of flies? pics would be good :P
