So how did everyone go in the classic yesterday? The weather certainly could have been better. Anyone got any of the results?

Cheers, Dror

Hey Dror in my opinion you didn't miss much..But then again out of 30 teams on two didn't weight anything and guess where i was[EMO]crying.gif[/EMO]

Serously the rain and wind was just too much for me and at times i felt like a hose was running on me a full noise..Then getting busted of in that and re-tieing all day..

Results should be up on the wabreamclassic site tomorow hopefully.

A funny side was Doug Fisher finshed 4th and didn't leave the Marina[EMO]bigsmile.gif[/EMO]

Dror

As Rod said, weatherwise it was a bit dismal, but the number of teams weighing in bags made up for it and there were some quality fish there too.

The results should be posted soon - I was aiming to print out a number of copies of the results for distribution after the presentations but my computer decided it would make life difficult. Thankfully Averil had her laptop and we could process the results on that but not link to the printer.

Fish were pretty widespread, from the Marina to up the Murray and Serpentine Rivers.

Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club put on a sausage sizzle and the bar was open; they are also keen to be involved next year so we are aiming to make it bigger and better - a process of continuous improvement.

Thanks to all the competitors for making the day successful.

Look forward to seeing you at the next event.

cheers

Craig

Dror, It was as Rod said a pretty difficult comp to fish, the rain and wind were bad enough but the blowies were in plague proportions

My prefish spot that produced well the previous week from the Clansman downriver fishing the jetties etc. proved a waste of time, it appeares that there was a good section up around the Ravo that was virtually blowie free and produced some good fish and from the stories, some big bust offs. The fish were wide spread ,Szarn never moved from the mouth and caught a good bag for second place. David Orielly fished a fair way upstream and won the comp with a good bag and a stonka fish about 1.3kg. Third spot fish were all taken in the Serpi and I think Dougie Fisher and Seano may have taken fourth never leaving the Marina and uppgrading by 8:30 am.

Anyways its back to the drawing board for us after donuting, ah well its all fun

I dont feel anywhere near as bad know i now that 4 teams didn't catch fish[EMO]embarrassed.gif[/EMO]

Oh well Craig had a great day and have heard coments today like it was very well exectuted..Big pat on the backs...

Now for the next event in Mandurah tell Pete to get the speed limit lifted for the start run, that would look fantastic for the locals and from what i saw all the local travel at full noise all over the place anyway[EMO]bigsmile.gif[/EMO]

Oh and Yardi we also fished that stretch and gave up very quickly...

It wasnt a bad comp at all and to the credit of the organisers, allowing people to drive to murray bend was a great idea.

Dan and I had a ball upgrading by 10:30 but we just couldnt hold the big fish on 6lb leader. Saying that Dave O'Reilly pulled his monster on 4lb in the same part of the river as we targeted- for the record it went a smidge over 1.4kg.  We got smoked 3 times and one of mine was on a practiacally locked drag.  Oh well happy with a 6th and the fact that I got to pull a couple of upgrades while James and Dave stopped for a chat made it more enjoyable.

Well despite the crappy conditions and James and I fishing like burgers (we dropped way too many fish), I still really enjoyed the event.

The venue was great and really added to the after event atmosphere in my opinion!!!
