Hi Guys.
I'm absolutely exhausted but thought I'd quickly hop on and let everyone know how the day went.

Ev and Mitch managed another brilliant finish, taking out second place.  They were incredibly unlucky to be pipped for the win with a huge gap between 2nd and 3rd and not much in it between first and second.  They did however manage to take out big bream with a 1.28kg horse.

James and I showed frustrating consistency with yet another top ten but alas no top 5 to give us the entry to the grand final.  We took out 7th with a limit bag of 1.77kg.  The amount of fish landed was rediculous for us, but the big kickers werent coming our way unfortunately.

Yatesy and Dan had no luck for the day, but managed a fish to weigh in and finished somewhere between 11th and 14th.  With only 14 teams out of 42 weighing in fish it is still a great effort.

As you can probably imagine, I'm absolutely stoked for all the team.  For all three teams to finish inside the top 14 in a field of 42 shows great skill and consistency.  Certainly no complaints from my end that is for sure!!!

Massive thanks goes out to Craig Leatt Hayter for use of his Polycraft.  Without him James and I were in a spot of bother.  I'd also like to thank Egrell Dezigns for their support...the rods work a treat.

Happy fishing guys!

Yes it certainly was another great comp. Bones and i started to head to the canning early on but a quick change of heart saw us pull up to a vacant narrows bridge. Fishing was incredibly slow but we had pulled some nice big fish off there in the prefish the week before so we knew we might have a chance. We pulled our bag by about 10am including Bones' 1.285kg horse then spent the rest of the day trying to upgrade our little 28cm rat in the well. after about 3-4 smokings (the joys of fishing 4-6lb around pylons) and numerous rats we managed to get one more size fish around 28 that we couldnt tell the difference. With our bag of over 3kg we thought we had it but Jeff Murrays bag was awesome - 4 solid fish to pip us at the end! Mitch and i spent the afternoon eating kebabs and drinking some of our jim beam winnings pondering what could have been if we managed to land one of the smokings... Dave i think im going to need to try out one of those S1's from Eric... need some more grunt on the HLZ's!!!! oh well there is always next time.

Many thanks to Craig and Timsy for another great comp. Bones and i have already entered the next one in August.

Anyone want to buy an engel 45L esky or 2??? i think there might be some for sale!!! haha

Yeah it was very different fishing to previous weekends fishing- im not sure why as the weather was about the same. Just happened that all the spots I had lined up to fish were already being fished or didnt produce as they had the weekend before.  It kind of threw us off plan and we ended wasting time at spots that didnt produce so we could rely on our last spot to turn on like it did for me the previous weekend.  Again it wasnt to be, with only small bream and sambos coming to the party.

Must say a big thanks to Dan for catching all the fish of the day, some how I just couldnt get my act together.

I would like to express my dissapointment at some of the unsportsmanlike behavior on the water too, if people are going to take a "social" style event that serioulsy that it offends others, I believe people wont keep returning to the comps.

Well done to all the Jiggy Jig guys, got to say you are all consistent.

Brad maybe a bit of an eloboration on the behaviour you commented on, I have to say I was extremely dissapointed with one team. They dropped straight in front of our drift on three seperate occassions, the last time they did it, I have got say I became quite animated.

I am  also aware that this is not the first time these guys have been chatted for this, hey when your battling to catch fish the last thing you want is someone pulling in front 20 meters away.

Anyways a good effort by all in charge of the organisation of the event and congrats to Jeff Murray for a killer bag of fish

It's a shame to hear that some negative's have come out of the event in terms of very minor clashes between teams.  I guess this is going to be a problem when we have events with fields this large in the middle of winter when the fish tend to congregate downstream more than normal.

On another note I'd like to say a big thanks to all the sponsors of the round.  The prizes were great in terms of quality and quantity with over $18 000 worth of prizes given away at the event!!!  Oh and there's a boat to give away at the last round in case anyone forgets...lol!!!

Thats really disapointing, I think I know who pulled in on you Yardi, like you said there has been many near incidents involving him and others because of similar behaviour.

I must say if anyone pulled up infront of me I would absolutly loose it, thankfully knowone has yet haha.

Awsome prize packs this time as well - Abt/Sponsors have greatly contributed in that last event - ill definatly be returning
