Hey Folks,

My name is Michael and I am new to this site, some of you may remember me from breammaster.com where I have spent alot of time posting and talking to many other bream fisherman. My nickname is Pappy for those of you who don't know....

Anyways.. I have been chasing bream on lure for a few years and now as the post describes I want to chase bream on fly. I have had some success on the wand, I landed my first brown trout when fishing in NZ on fly and I have caught the occassional herring.

Since I live in Perth, most of my fishing is done in the swan river. To throw it out there, I was curious to know if anyone can lend me some tips on fly fishing the swan river. Things I wish to know are types of flies, spots, easy places to fish(casting not a problem), retrieves etc.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As I said I am a novice that is hoping to catch a few bream on fly.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

cheers Pappy

Hey man

Ive never flyfished for bream, but as long as you dont use gulp juice on the flies to scent them you will get loads of respect from the JJ crew.

I guess natural colours on the flats would be a good start, maybe you could try a green sort of 3" worm imitation as they generally work well in the swan

Hey flyguy. I spin in summer and flyfish in winter. I use simple flys that i usually tie during lunch when im at the river. I only use 5 wt rod and floating line but do use my other wts when needed. I  will gladly show you round but my rules are NO BACKGROUND pics. Im not going to debate that rule as i have seen first hand what happens and its a fact that the most successful anglers in any state are smart enough to know that hundreds of fish keepers surf these sites just to get that info. I can supply the gear and  what usually happens is you  tie your own fly with me then we go and enjoy some surpurb blowie fishing with the odd bream thrown in as well. Floating lines get more action in my spots too. I dont know how to pm on this site yet so reply and i will check back thurs at 6pm or PM your mobile to KD73 at breammaster. My mate  helped me get  evicted from there so its the least he can do for me.  CHEERS

That would be an invitation I would take there Pappy.

Bender can fish.  Quite well.

Brad Mac will no doubt see this at some point and I'm sure he'll be keen to help out too mate.  He loves his fly fishing.

Hi Pappy

Long time no see, it's been years.  You probably don't remember me but there was a social fishing at the Murray Bend and that's where I met you and your mate; we ended up shorebashing.  If you're going to fish with Bender, please ensure you bring some ear muffs, you will need it trust me.  Actually iPod should do the trick!   Now Bender, how about telling another one, eh!  So it's your mates fault now is it?   Member for only 3 months and out the door! LMFAO!!!

PS Pappy, yea he can fish and he can talk too!

Cheers, Carol
