Carnarvon/Coral Bay

Hi Guys.
I'm heading up to Carnarvon on sunday for a week. My girlfriends relatives own a station up that way which may or may not back onto the ocean (need to find out).

I'm going to do a day trip to coral bay...but what I want to know is does anyone know any good landbased spots in the carnarvon area. I'm talking creeks (with sand flats to fish off) and beaches with small reefs easy to fish off. I'm only taking light gear for some fun. I'll fish the jetty and stuff...but I'm looking for some nice fish to get some trevors and some creeks for jacks.

Man, if you get them keen to go for a fish, theres Myaboolya. I think its a 4wd track around carnarvon and its basically a land locked lake that opens from time to time. Is full of small cod, flatties and a few other species- maybe a jack or northern bream or two. Bream gear and lots of placcies should see you with a good chance.

My grandparents were fishing the jetty at carnarvon a while ago and theres lots of northern bream around it. Try for a big carnarvon jetty mulloway if ya want but take a slightly bigger rod.... You will love it up there man.
