Hi guys,
JiggyJigs.comis proud to announce that we have now become WA's only stockist/outlet for Egrell rods.

For those who don't know, Eric Grell is a very accomplished tournament angler and rod builder who has designed and built rods for over 30 years, and has done so for some of the biggest name brands in Australia (G-Loomis, Strudwick to name a couple).  The reputation, particularly on the east coast, is one of rods of the very highest quality and the best performance one would expect from a hand crafted rod.

The Egrell Dezigns rods come in two models.  The first model is "The Bear" and the second model is the "Egrell" series.  The Egrell series price ranges from (approx) $429.95 up to $469.95 depending on the model, with the Bears pricing around $100 less.  At these prices your getting handcrafted rods of the same quality as any top level brand in Australia, with blanks meeting or exceeding the best in the country, all for under $500.  Incredible value when compared to the competition!

The Egrell range can be viewed here.
The Bear range can be viewed here.

The Egrell series are made on HM Graphite and the Bear using IM Graphite.  Both blanks use technology and design from Eric that are exclusive in Australia, creating a rod that has incredible feel and casting distance, and importantly increases the hooping strength of the blank.   Both rods are made with guides that Egrell Dezigns bring in themselves.  These guides are made with Silicone Rings and Titanium coated stainless steel  frames...meaning awesome performance and long life.

The rods also come with a no questions asked 6 months from original purchase replacement warranty.  After this period, Egrell Dezigns offer a lifetime rebuild on the rods for those who have had the rods for some time and would simply like the rod re-made to make it brand new again...this is performed at cost.  Eric is yet to have a rod come back with complaints which shows great quality and strength in his blanks.

A lot of guys over east are using the S1's and S2's for plastic work (S1's for super light finesse work) and the S4's for their crankbaits and slightly large plastics (3"+).

I personally will soon have a S1 and S2 for myself that anyone can view, and we have already sold an S4 that I'm sure the owner wont mind showing people.

I am also having an S10 shipped over for guys who are doing inshore sport fishing up north or down here for Salmon, Tuna, Spanglies, etc, etc. This model has been described as the only rod in Australia that tailors that market correctly.  This description is in print by some of the biggest names in fishing in Australia. There is also an article on this rod in this months (Feb 2007) Victoria Fishing Monthly for all to read.

The initial shipment will all be the Egrell series, however we will shortly have some of the Bear series to view aswell.

We've already had guys showing a lot of interest in the rods, and as soon as I can, I will have pics and more info up on our site.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will answer as best I can, and if I can't cover it, I'm sure Eric will be more than happy to help.

More info on the Egrell Dezigns rods can be found HERE.

The first batch of Egrell's arrived late yesterday...and my goodness it's hard to control myself.

They are super light and the craftsmenship is as good as I've ever seen. I cannot wait to get on the water with these rods...I'll be starting off with an S1 and S2 in the Egrell range, but can quickly see myself adding an S10 and maybe an S6 in the near future!!!

Ev has taken off with my S2 for the weekend and has already creamed himself having picked it up.  The reel seat area is as awesome as they look in the pics, and the guides quality and design is awesome.  Having read a little bit about Eric's building ability I was eagerly awaiting seeing the rods craftsmenship and have not been disappointed.

I will have some pics taken soon and post them asap...

If anybody would like to view the rods feel free to contact me and we can sort something out!

Hi All,

Well i am back from walpole and after using the S2 to throw HB's on the flats and i can say that this is an awesome rod! i had it matched with a Caladia Kix 2004 and it was casting Zippys and Laser pros what seemed like miles. what i was impressed with most was the rods action. it let you feel the lure perfectly and had just enough give to ensure that you didnt pull the lure from the fish. needless to say that pretty much every hit resulted in a hookup!

Best fish i landed on it was a 43cm bream and it handled it with ease! dropped another monster just near the boat but that was me trying to skull drag fish in, in less than a foot of water!

I loved the rod soooo much that i have ordered a second which will hopefully be here before the Classic!

Pics of the 43 will be posted when Bones aka Mitch gets his camera downloaded!

if any of you are interested in having a look at the S2 you can have a play with at the Classic!

see you all there!

Hi Guys.

Just letting everyone know we have a heap of Egrell Dezignz rods on their way over as we speak specifically for the viewing of everyone over here!!!

Eric and Deb have been working their butts off to get it all together and have done a great job as always.  We'll have something like 10 rods out of the spinning range for your viewing.  They have also kindly sent over a 6ft version of the S1 that they are willing to add to the range if there is demand...which I do believe there will be.  This is also available for viewing.

Anybody (and there's a lot of you) who would like to see these great rods only needs to email me and we can tee something up!!!

Cheers

Dave

Well the day I've been dreaming of came today...I got my grubby hands on a large bunch of Egrell Rods!!!

The Bear series of rods have blown me away and have far exceeded my expectations. I can honestly say the S1 Bear may have taken place as my favourite rod...but I will confirm that after some serious testing!!!

The S1 and S1-6 Egrell series are incredible rods. Super light and great actions. I'm really stoked to have the 6'6" rod as I have a real soft spot for that size rod. The best part with these rods is the fact that although each rod may be classed the same or very similar, each blank is designed different and definately has its place. My initial feel is that the Bear S1 fits in nicely between the Egrell S1 and S2...with the S4 coming in handy as slightly heavier crankbaits rod.

The S10 Egrell is a serious bit of work. My forearms aren't going to like that rod I don't think...man it has some balls behind it. How Eric has incorporated that sort of power with such a light tip I will never understand!!! The S10 Bear is very similar but with an even lighter tip which is going to be great on the spanglies and snapper up north and in metro waters. I can now understand why Eric brought out the S10H.

The S6 Egrell will probably become my dedicated metals rod I think. Feels great in hand and may have a little more power than the ratings let on I think.

I can't wait to test these rods on my local waters and up in Kalbarri over the coming weeks. Needless to say I'll be keeping you all posted!!!

Massive thanks to Egrell Dezignz for all their effort. Seriously incredible rods that I can't praise enough!!!
