Well Dave

Having had the use of the Polycraft for a day - what do you reckon?

I am interested in your opinion - be honest, happy to hear good and bad points.

cheers

Craig

Hi Mate.

Well I loved it mate.  The way it rides is awesome.  Handles chop well, didnt porpoise much (not at all i dont think), flew along nicely at 31 knots.  Great layout aswell.  Pleasure to drive and fish off really.

Only downsides IMO are the fact that the livewell plug wasnt in...lol Nearly sunk the boat.  The issue with that was that the water went to the stern and was easily bilge pumped out, but a lot of water stayed in the area in which we are seated and standing, around around console.  There didnt seem to be enough drainage for the water to get out or down to the transom area, so we had to bilge it out from the free board area as well as the stern/transom area.  Other than that (which shouldnt really happen anyway) it was great.  Oh and water comes out ot the livewell lid if the livewell is full and you give the motor a burst...lol

Loved the boat...wouldnt change much if anything at all.

Yep I was thinking I should install some auto bilge pumps and change the live well bungs to the screw in type.

31knots - you little B_____ you were thrashing it!!!

I only get 27 to 28 knots out of it but then I weigh a tad more than you.

Hang on, do I weigh more than you and your non-boater put together, damn!

Glad you enjoyed it Dave - they are not a bad bit of gear for a reasonable price.

cheers

Craig

Hi mate.
We only got 31 knots once...when we left the start raced to get to the Narrows.  Livewell was empty.  After that it was 28 knots max.  Oh and that 31 was going with the current...so I wonder what speed it may actually have been....could have been even faster...lol
The boat must have felt the young blood in it and pushed a bit harder...lol

Screw in livewell thingo would definately be a good option.

Hey Craig, I think Dave is still working out mate, his muscles must be getting bigger every week so he must weigh more than me now, from your post I gather that Dave now has a Polycraft same as yours... looks like I may have to still be serious about one of those, we will be back in Perth around early Dec. will be looking for a boat for myself then.. Nifty

Hi Nev - Dave borrowed Craigs poly to fish the recent bream classic....

If you are interested in buying a poly - Nathan ("bubba") is selling his purple one and its going quite cheap... think he wants $14.5K for it.

check out the post on breammaster. its fully kitted out with rod lockers, sounders etc.... probably a bit early for you but its an option...

There may be a nice blue one up for sale when you get back! ;)
