Just got back from the agent and have sourced Raiglon Braids and Flouro in seriously limited stock.  The braid is equal to or better than any braid I've seen on the Aus market and is great value at $59.95.

We have the following in at the moment...

PE Acrobat Light Jigging (4 strand) PE 0.6 (max straing 8.8lb and super thin) 150m.  It's 5 coloured and changes every 10m allowing for semi accurate depth estimation for you light inshore jigging (think skippy and deep water breaming).

Kaitou Rupan (4 strand) PE 0.6 (max 8lb) in 150m.  Again this is even thinner and is coloured bleach white giving super visability.  Being a squidding braid it offers great strength for diameter.

Power Drive Saltwater PE (4 strand) PE 0.6 (max 8lb).  Nice and thin, very similar to the Kaitou Rupan but perhaps offering a little more abrasive resistance.  Spools of 130m.

We also have Raiglon Exceed Flourocarbon in spools of 35m.  Currently only in 7lb but soon to come in 5lb aswell.  Nice and strong flouro leader and great knot tying performance.

All braids are $59.95 and the flouro is $19.95 so both offer great value.   The performance is second to none with the exceptional quality one expects from a Japanese Braid that is actually made in Japan.

We have seriously limited stock for the time being so get in quick...hopefully soon we'll be able to get our hands on more but for the time being we have all that is available.  We can also get some of the braids in heavier strands and also in 8 Strand models if desired.

Ive tried out the kaitou rupan white braid and i cannot describe how good it is.  Ive instantly loaded up two reels with it.  The testing was done from the shore at harvey dam and it performed flawlessly.  Time to get more for my new reel when it arrives.

cheers Brad. I have found one I like even if its not that easy to source local. Have you given the other braids a crack yet?

No I havent got to it yet.  Im actually selling most of my reels so im not loading them up.  Got a new one and thats going to get more of the braid i have now.  I dont see any need to get the depth marker braid for breaming and I can see the white one pretty good.  I also think the white will be good on the flats, with the sun and shallow clear water, it will kind of blend in with all the light.

It would seem that varivas is the measure to all other lines at the moment (although i've never used it). How does it compare and what are the characteristics

I can catagorically say the Raiglon is at the least as good as Varivas.

Put it this way mate, dave had varivas on his reels, yet Im sure hes swapped at least one over already as far as I know.  Ive never fished with varivas, but from the looks of it, this stuff is made just as well.  I can tell you its better than nitlon PE and sufix performance braid and they were decent braids as well.  Cant be far off, if not right on the heels of varivas.  What does a spool of varivas retail for compared to the raiglon?

I dunno Brad- I went back to Fireline before the Varivas was the "in thing". I think the Varias is $70? and the Fireline is $20. Will save my pennies till I can afford a roll of Raiglon (sp?) for my spare spool and see for myself.

Good to see your back online Dave- no-one likes dealing with tele-comunication @*$^!%

Yeah the good braids arent cheap.  But at least we can get two reels filled with one spool.  Just a little more expensive than doing one reel with a whole spool of fireline.  I left fireline ages ago.  I only ever got one good batch out of it.  Just sprung off the reel too much.  But this stuff is the ducks nuts IMO, as I said at least as good as varivas and if theres $10 difference, then all the better for raiglon.
