Hi Dave, Deac and Gang!
I've been fishing since I was 9 years old, so at 52, that's far too many years LOL. My father introduced me (and my two brothers) to fishing when we came out from England in 1964. We started off very humbly with hand lines from the Swan river jetties and wharfs, moved onto to salt water shore based and then I purchased my first boat when I was 36, a 5.5m FG Douglas Sabre Runnabout which I sold some 3 years later before going on a holiday to Europe for 3 months whilst on Long Service Leave. Three years ago, I purchased my current boat, a 5.8m FRP Carridean Adventurer Cuddy Cab and, not long after, moved down to Mount Barker from Perth after falling in love with the unspoilt Great Southern Region.
I live in Mount Barker with my lovelly wife Sandra and two cats - Athena and Byron.
I've dabbled with bream fishing on and off for about 10 years now. Predominantly from the banks of the Swan and Canning rivers, but since moving down south, from the banks of the Hay, King and Kalgan.
Until recently, my bream fishing was pretty basic, just using prawns or koonacs (from the dam on our previous property), but have now started to take the wonderful sport of bream fishing more seriously.
The culmination of this, was enjoying a fantastic opportunity to spend a morning with Deac on the Kalgan where, I can assure you, no bait was on board. Thanks Deac for a great experience, a chance to hook into some bream and the opportunity to observe a master and trully nice all round bloke!
I recently upgraded my rod from a Jarvis Walker (laughs) to a Pluegar President 2-4, which, I'm sure you agree is a slight improvement LOL.
I'm looking forward to much more bream fishing, especially in summer when I'm told the action will be...ON!
Great to being here, learning heaps, and contributing where and when I can
.
Thanks to Marc and the team for making this site possible!
Best Regards
