Social Day Bream Competitions A Great Success!!! - Tuesday, July 22, 2008

With the new sportsfishing club in the making, Team JiggyJigs.com members Brad Yates, Dave Press, with the help of Evan Cranston decided to run some unofficial social competitions to gauge support, sentiment and to learn as much as possible before starting much larger club events.

The first event was the one day teams event held on the 6th July from Matilda Bay, with the second event being a two day, 3 session random draw event on the weekend 19th 20th July.  The weather for both events was superb.  Unfortunately the fishing was slow and shut down for the first event, but certainly fired up for the second event with some huge bags weighed in and many personal PB's broken by competing anglers.

JiggyJigs.com would like to thank the Team JiggyJigs guys who ran the event, the guys from Breammaster.com and WAFM for the support and use of the scales and last but certianly not least Craig Leatt-Hayter for the weigh bags.  Most importantly well done to all involved as competitors and thank you for the huge support shown.  Without doubt the future club will be very successful if these weekends are anything to go by.

ABT Walpole WA AOY Round 1 - Friday, April 11, 2008

Team JiggyJigs anglers James Graham, Deacon Plant and Owner/Manager Dave Press ventured to the famed Walpole/Nornalup inlets in the hopes of taming the notorious big bream in ABT's first WA  AOY round for 2008.

The river had other ideas though, with fishing proving very tough.  The final results said it all with many of the best anglers of the last few years failing to weigh in full limits of fish.  James Graham managed a solid 8th place in the boaters division with 5 fish each day.  Dave Press took 7th in the non-boaters weighing in only 7 out of 10 fish for the two days.  Unfortunately Deacon's run of poor sessions in Walpole continued with very few size fish and a finish down the lower half of the table.

With round one over many anglers were very pleased to hear ABT will be running Round 2 in Albany.  The lure of monster fish will surely see good numbers make the drive down to Albany for the May 10-11 tournament.

Team JiggyJigs continues great run of consistency!!! - Sunday, July 01, 2007 - Sunday, July 01, 2007
Team JiggyJigs has yet again shown why they are the most consistent team in WA with yet another top 3 and multiple top 10 placings in ABT's third round of the very successful Swan BREAM Classic Series!!!

Team JiggyJigs anglers Mitch Yellin and Evan Cranston teamed up once again and were incredibly unlucky to be pipped for the win even with a large 3kg plus bag.  The second place is not their first for the year which shows awesome consistency and fishing smarts.  Both anglers are understandably very hungry for the win and should be considered a real threat in the next event!

Team JiggyJigs/River2Sea consisted of JiggyJigs owner Dave Press and young gun JiggyJigs angler, James Graham.  Coming off a few top ten placings in recent times and James' huge ABT Hawkesbury win, bith anglers were quiet confident of success.  The top 5 placing they desired elluded them however and after landing countless fish all day, the pair couldn't get the kicker fish required and settled for another top ten in 7th place.

JiggyJigs.com would like to thank all the team members for their efforts and wish them all the best in all future events!!!

Team JiggyJigs has taken another step towards becoming one of the most consistent teams in the country with all three teams placing inside the top ten in ABT's WA Classic #1 held over the weekend on the beautiful Swan River.

Anglers Brad Yates and Daniel Bonasera placed 9th with James Graham and Dave Press taking 6th and finally Evan Cranston and Mitch Yellin getting back where they belong in 3rd place in the field of 37 teams!!!

Each team fished slightly different areas and techniques with Evan and Mitch employing JiggyJigs jigheads matched with Snapback soft plastics in the down stream structures to take a solid top three placing.

Full final placings can be foung HERE.

JiggyJigs.com would like to thank all participating anglers for their continued support and representation and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the tournament year.

Team JiggyJigs angler James Graham makes it two from two with a win in round two of WABT's Swan Summer Night Series.  Not only did James take it the overall win in the first and second events, he has also taken big bream in both events, showing great consistancy and ability to find fish in almost all conditions.

ABT Swan Bream Classic #3 - Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - Tuesday, November 14, 2006
Team JiggyJigs has grabbed yet another top ten finish in the third and final ABT Swan Bream Classic held on November 12th 2006.

Team JiggyJigs Anglers James Graham and David Press fished hard all day, well downstream of the majority of anglers in an effort to find area's that were relatively lightly fished.  The move paid off with early fish in the livewell.  Late in the event the pair moved towards the City area and grabbed a couple of upgrades, giving them a bag worthy of 7th place in the record field of 57.

This result gives the JiggyJigs team at least one top ten placing in every Classic round held in 2006.

JiggyJigs.com thanks all the Team for their efforts and a special thanks to Craig Leatt Hayter and Dave Timms for running a great event and supporting JiggyJigs.com!!!

James Graham wins WABT's SSNS #1 - Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - Tuesday, November 14, 2006
Team JiggyJigs angler won the first round of WABT's Swan Summer Night Series held on November 11th 2006.  James fished JiggyJigs jigheads with SnapBack soft plastics and River 2 Sea Baby Vibes to take out not only the overall win, but also Big Bream for the event.

Unfortunately for Team JiggyJigs Angler Brad Yates, he was disqualified for speeding in a restricted speed area.  Brad's bag would have given him the win and big bream but the win went to James Graham after the disqualification.

JiggyJigs.com would like to thank both anglers for their support and wishes them both the best of luck in future events.

Mandurah Boat Show Bream Competition - Sunday, October 15, 2006 - Sunday, October 15, 2006
The 2006 Mandurah Boat Show BREAM tournament was held on the 15th November with Team JiggyJigs/Tracker Boats placing in 9th in a strong field of anglers with Team JiggyJigs member James Graham also placing inside the top 15.

Brad Yates and Dave Press fished the same stretch of river all day for  their fish, all coming on JiggyJigs round head jigs in size 4 matched with Berkley grubs in pumpkinseed.

Congratulations go out to the Team JiggyJigs guys on their places and also to Dror and Nathan on their tournament win.

Team JiggyJigs.com place first and second!!! - Sunday, October 15, 2006 - Sunday, October 15, 2006
Team JiggyJigs anglers placed first and second at the 2006 BIA International Boat Show BREAM event held on the Swan River in Perth.

Anglers Brad Yates and Brad McDonald fished strongly on both days to take out first position, narrowly beating Team JiggyJigs angler James Graham and his partner Daniel.

Both teams fished different strategies and styles over the weekend with both producing the goods.  Team JiggyJigs won the event fishing the same short stretch of the river but casting JiggyJigs jigheads loaded with Berkley GULP Sandworms and JiggyJigs 4" Razor Worms onto the bank and working them slowly off the dropoffs.  They estimate around 70 fish were boated over the two days.

James and Daniel fished both up and downstream using both Vibes and Soft Plastics to earn not only second place but also Big Bream for the event.

JiggyJigs.com would like to thank all the anglers for their support and congratulate them on a stellar performance.

WABT 2006 Pro Tour Round 3 - Friday, July 28, 2006 - Friday, July 28, 2006
WABT recently held the third round of their 2006 BREAM Pro Tour on Perth's Swan river. Following the recent trends in other tournaments held on the Swan...conditions were very tough.
With 27 boaters arriving to fish, only half the field landed fish (give or take a couple) proving yet again that the Swan is a very fickle river at the moment.

Yet again the JiggyJigs team was well represented by anglers Brad Yates and James Graham. Both landed fish and put themselves in the top half of the rankings.

The good finishes from the boys has placed them strongly in the Pro Tour rankings with Brad in 4th for the Pro division and James in 8th for the Amatuers division. Both anglers are well positioned for a top 5 AOY ranking.

For more info on the Pro Tour visit WABT's website here.

WA ABT Swan AOY Round 2... - Wednesday, May 24, 2006 - Wednesday, May 24, 2006
The Swan River in WA once again proved how hard it can fish, with less than half the field weighing in fish at ABT's second WA AOY qualifier round.
A huge congratulations must go to Brad Yates on qualifying for ABT's Grand Final.  Team JiggyJigs now has three entrants this year which is a huge effort!!!
Szarn Tink took out the event, beating Mr Consistent Dror Pietch.  Dror however took home the WA AOY prize!!!

Engel Swan Bream Classic Round 2 - Sunday, April 30, 2006 - Friday, May 19, 2006
Team JiggyJigs have yet again performed incredibly well at the second round of ABT's Engel Swan Bream Classic, run from the beautiful shores of Matilda Bay.
Evan Cranston and team mate managed yet another top ten with 8th place in a massive field of 55 boats, in which more than half didnt weigh in fish.  Ev has become mister consistent over the years with hardly any places outside the top 15.
Team JiggyJigs Owner/Manager Dave Press teamed up with Taro Okamoto for the second round and fished hard all day, trying different places and techniques to weigh in two fish for 5th place.  After the shocker in round 1, the turnaround was significant for both angler's confidence in tournament fishing.  Dave has now placed 4th, 5th, equal last and 5th from his last 4 rounds of tournament fishing.

We'd like to thank Craig Leatt Hayter and Dave Timms for the awesome event and special mention to Craig for the use of his boat for the event.  Well done guys, you are running a world class event!

Happy fishing guys.

Brad Yates moving one step closer... - Monday, May 08, 2006 - Monday, May 08, 2006
Brad Yates has bettered himself once again in WABT's second AOY round for 2006 held on the great Blackwood river in the WA's south west.
As usual the Blackwood proved hard fishing with many blanking and the usual tales of the big fish that busted itself free on the barnicle encrusted snags and rocks that the river is known for.

Brad fished hard using JiggyJigs 3" Tournament Grubs and Berkley Sandworms rigged on JiggyJigs jigheads, to get himself a 5th place on the final day.  Brad was inside the top 4 after day one, but found goings hard on day two (as most did) and was pushed down a position or two.  Not that Brad's complaining...this gives Brad an 8th and a 5th from two Career AOY starts.  Not bad stats for even the most synical of critics.

More info here...

JiggyJigs would like to thank Brad for his support and wish him the best in the future.

Nathan Alsop proving consitsency... - Monday, May 01, 2006 - Monday, May 01, 2006
Team JiggyJigs member Nathan Alsop teamed up with his good mate Drew McGrath to compete in the STC Bream Series event held at Gippsland Lakes over the weekend.  Nath and Drewy placed well in 10th in the field of 25 top anglers.

The event, eventually won by Andrew Howard and Ross Lammot with a huge 10 fish bag limit in excess of 13kg!!!

Well done Nath on another top ten result!  Doesnt get much more consistent than that.

Happy fishing.

Evan Cranston 6th in Swan Bream Classic #1 - Sunday, March 19, 2006 - Monday, March 20, 2006
JiggyJigs Team Member Evan Cranston placed 6th in the hard fought first round of the WA Swan Bream Classics.

In a WA record field of 50 teams Evan and his team mate went into the last hour with only 1 small fish on board.  They then proceeded to land numerous fish in a very short feeding frenzy, to get a bag of 4 plus a few upgrades.
The gap between 4th and 10th place was incredibly small with many anglers weighing in bags around the low 2kg mark.

The event was won by Team Western Angler.

Brad Yates Top Ten in Walpole... - Sunday, March 05, 2006 - Sunday, March 05, 2006
JiggyJigs angler Brad Yates has placed inside the top ten of WABT's first AOY round for the year in Walpole. Brad's 8th place puts him into the money placings and gives him a great stepping stone for a strong 2006 AOY season. This being Brad's first ever WABT AOY round, the result is sweeter just that bit more.

Brad fished JiggyJigs jigheads on his way to the placing.

We thank him for his support and continued success.
